i always thought my eyes were green, sometimes almost blue, sometimes grey, flecks of brown-yellow that almost give them life. but i'll never forget the hazel-brown of his eyes as he studied mine, and told me that they're blue. they're blue with rings and flecks of gold that give the illusion of green. so i looked into the mirror, got up close and looked at my own eyes, and i noticed that he's right. the 'green' eyes i thought i knew are blue and gold, swirled together, a little galaxy giving the illusion of a sea of green. and i wondered how i had gone for 18 years, thinking my eyes were my best feature but never truly looking at them.
